Have watched The Ticket on You tube. Brilliant, moving film. Dan Stevens superb as always. Well worth watching.

With little news coming out at present re. Dan, why does this site seem to have been taken over by people promoting their web sites for writing thesis, essays, etc. and using older posts to hide their comments in?

  • Reply to: The Ticket and Colossal now in US theatres   1 year 25 weeks ago

Keep seeing news about films that are about to be released or have already been released but are only available to see in the US..

TheTicket, Kill Switch, Permission ... when do we get to see them?

And why does Dan always seem to have to take on the part with an American accent? This distribution issue has been rumbling on now for soom time with no end in sight and no comment from those involved.

Little news lately about Dan and the films that have yet to be released in the UK. Really want to see The Ticket. So many films out this year hope they can be in cinemas here soon.

I would love to see him as Sir Lancelot in a remake of Camelot with Michelle Dockery as Guinevere (Vanessa Redgrave's role) she has a beautiful voice and we now know Dan can carry a tune and of course their chemistry is palpable from DA

Having heard Dan sing Evermore and seen him in Night at the Museum 3, wonder if Arthur in Camelot could be a future possibility?

Evermore put me in mind of the great Richard Harriss in this role

Didn't enjoy this film one bit. Liam Neeson just wooden and Dan's role, although well acted, wasn't believable. Felt uncomfortable watching. Much prefered The Guest.

Why in all of Dan's latest films does he have to adopt an American accent? OK, he does it brilliantly, but sometimes it is just not necessary. He's English for heaven's sake!

  • Reply to: The Ticket and Colossal now in US theatres   1 year 32 weeks ago

Dan certainly is pushing himself with the number of films coming out this year! Seems to favour slightly off-beat themes and characters. A far cry from Downton.

Just read about Kill Switch, another sci-fi type of film, a favourite genre of his obviously. Would love to see him him in a good comedy, he always seems to have a great sense of fun and humour.

Whatever he does, hope it will reach a wider audience, not just US.

Always notice that Dan seems much more relaxed when doing interviews with men. His voice alters and his accent seems more British. So many women interviewers, especially US, are painfully gushy or flirty and ask the same questions. He seems sometimes to be taking the mickey out of them, in a gentle way, in his replies.

I do wonder, though, if it'll be the slightly lower voice with the more posh accent he puts on for more well-to-do characters the way he did Matthew Crawley and Gilbert Evans (Summer In February).

I love Dan in Both Beauty and the Beast and in Legion so it was hard for me to choose

  • Reply to: The Ticket and Colossal now in US theatres   1 year 34 weeks ago

The trouble seems to be that a number òf films are made by independents rather than big studios such as Disney with their massive budgets. When it comes to distrubution these films only seem to be shown in a small number of cinemas and not the big chains. Fine if you have access, but not if you are outside the big cities. Unfortunatelý it all seems to come down to money.
Thanks to the success of Beauty and the Beast worldwide, Dan is gaining more well earned recognition and hopefully distributors, film makers whatever, will realise that there are a lot of admirers of Dan's work outside of the US that want to see his movies. If there appears to be the demand maybe, just maybe, we'll get a better deal.

  • Reply to: The Ticket and Colossal now in US theatres   1 year 34 weeks ago

This is so unfair. We have to wait for more than a couple of years for Dan's movies, and then they are released all in the same year. Some were made about 3 to 4 years ago. What's the problem withholding films. Do get your act together you distributors and sort out your priorities. Realise movies are made in the US, but we do get short-changed when we are treated as second in line re. distribution.

Try looking on You tube, Dan Stevens Shallow should bring it up. Babysitting, another short, is also available. Hope this helps. Both worth watching.

It says it's a private video and needs a password. If you have it, please tell me the password. I've been searching the film for 3 days and I can't find it anywhere and I want to watch it really bad.

  • Reply to: The Ticket and Colossal now in US theatres   1 year 35 weeks ago

3 films released in US in the last few days. How long will other fans have to wait to see them? After the excitement and all the publicity of B & B, seems a bit of a let down for other fans with no idea if or when they will be able to see these films.

  • Reply to: Coming Up   1 year 35 weeks ago

After waiting so long to see this film, 3 years? It is still not available outside the US. Very disappointing after so much hype. Not the first time this has happened. Hope available on DVD soon.

  • Reply to: Coming Up   1 year 35 weeks ago

Amazon.com has The Ticket available to download if you are in USA & possibly Canada.

Certainly the publicity poster is somewhat misleading as "everywhere" obviously isn't everywhere!

Such a shame & a big disappointment for Dan fans in UK, Europe and....so hopefully it will become available via DVD or download here as well.

  • Reply to: Coming Up   1 year 35 weeks ago

Seems as if this film is only being released to select cinemas, art houses etc. much the same as Summer in February. Shame if there is not a venue locally showing! Hope it's not too long in coming to DVD.

  • Reply to: Coming Up   1 year 36 weeks ago

Does anybody know when The Ticket will be released in UK & Europe.....it seems that the latest advertisement, released by the Shout Factory who are distributing the film in USA & Canada, could be a bit misleading, as apparently it refers to just their area, not "everywhere" (as in worldwide).
IMBD and other sources seem to confirm that this is the case as well.......sadly....but hey! maybe I am wrong...I really hope so as I am looking forward to this film.

At least he'll be able to use his own accent, although he does other accents, voices, so well.

Oh I can't wait to see this and Jasper up on the big screen! All the kids will look great alongside you! Jackie

Thanks for all the new links, videos, interviews etc. After a period of what appeared to be bad PR things have swung the other way! So much going on with new projects to look forward to. Don't overwork, Dan!

I am really looking forward to seeing Dan's Dickens.....and it is not the first time that he has played him.....2008 "Dickens Confidential" on BBC Radio 4. From time to time this is available to listen to on BBC iPlayer. (Well worth it.)

Interesting, the choice off font used: quite hard to read easily.

So many great interviews, One Show,Good Morning etc, promoting Beauty and the Beast. Dan always looķs relaxed and interested when being interviewed on UK tv, Good, humourous chat.

Depending on what site you view he has 2 children, Willow and Aubrey, but recently a couple have stated he has 3 with a 10 month old caĺled Eden. As has been said he takes care of his family's privacy, although Willow and Aubrey are sometimes referred to in his interviews.
