Dan Stevens, the dashing star of Downton Abbey, is nursing a secret ambition. “I would love to write a novel,” the 29-year-old actor tells Mandrake. “I plan to take a couple of months out in the year after next to pursue it.” Stevens, who plays the heir to the Earl of Grantham, attended the VIP launch of Richard Caring’s restaurant, 34, in Grosvenor Square, Mayfair. “I’ve always been interested in writing and acting. What’s funny is that 15 years ago, when I really did want to write something, no one was offering.”
Downton Abbey has been nominated for 'Best Drama Series or Serial' in the 2012 Broadcast Awards, to be announced in February.
