Dan to record ‘The Iliad’ and ‘The Odyssey’ audiobooks

News of another new audio project from Dan appeared online yesterday.

Dan Stevens, best known for his portrayal of Matthew Crawley on Downton Abbey, is set to narrate a new and exciting production of the Fitzgerald translation of The Iliad and The Odyssey for Macmillan Audio. The new programs will go on sale in August 2014, just in time to be included in fall 2014 classroom curriculums.

The gorgeous photo above was shared by photographer Scott Gries on his Instagram. More photos of Dan leaving the Today Show yesterday can be found on this website, while the video below is of Dan arriving.

Students, readers, and fans will be delighted. Another opportunity to listen to that wonderful voice, perfect diction and beautiful English accent. Don't ever lose that, Dan...no matter how long you stay stateside.

Dan is awesome

He has everything, the brain, look, and voice. It will be delight to listen to him.
ps, He has changed a bit, from extremely cute to extremely hot!

A challenge met!

Dan's reading of The Iliad & The Odyssey will be a very welcome resolution to a nagging "I really should read this work" quandary. Briefly touched on in school I have to admit never having 'tried again', and as the origins are in the tradition of the spoken word rather than written, it will be an absolute joy to hear this production.
An additional bonus is this terrific photo of Dan! Thank you for sharing.
