Downton Abbey: Reading Eagle interview & The Junket

There is a great interview with Dan on the Reading Eagle website, where he talks about Downton, Summer in February and Broadway aspirations. Read it in full on the site.

This move into the modern era will likely help Stevens find more work in Hollywood. "A lot of great British actors have come over here and struck a chord," he said. "I'm excited to see what kind of roles are out there."

He recently completed his first American movie, Amy Heckerling's romantic comedy "Vamps," starring Krysten Ritter and Alicia Silverstone. "I'm the romantic interest for Krysten Ritter," he said. Next up is a project close to his heart: Stevens will spend January producing and starring in "Summer in February," a drama which will shoot in England and co-star Dominic Cooper and Ophelia Lovibond. "I've been developing it for years," he said. "It's another period piece, set in an artists' colony in Cornwall in the 1920s."

After that Stevens, who is married and the father of a young daughter, has no firm commitments. He's open to the idea of "going Hollywood" - or at least meeting the industry halfway. "I'd move to New York in a heartbeat," he said. "I'd love to bring my family over and do something on Broadway. "Los Angeles would take a bit of getting used to," Stevens admitted. "The worst advice I ever got was to go to Los Angeles when nobody knew who I was. It was one of the most soul-destroying experiences of my life. It was a black, bleak place."

Dan's appearance on last night's That Sunday Night Show can be watched again on ITV Catch Up if you missed it.

Dan tweeted a link to the latest issue of The Junket, which has a contribution by him. Read it here

USA/Sunday Night Show

It would be a good move for Dan financially to go to USA - but I just hope we don't lose him completely.
He is such a fine British actor, so well spoken & his education shines through, as it did in his appearance
on That Sunday Night Show!--- He left the rest of the "people" on that show way behind! His subtle questions and comments made the other guests. bar Ross, look pretty stupid!! Pick your USA jobs
with care Dan & don't leave the UK for ever - please! We need you & more like you - what a brilliant advert you are for working hard & using your brilliant brain! British at its best!
