Toronto Film Festival

So pleased to read that the 'opening night' film at the Toronto Film Fest will be The Fifth Estate, the DreamWorks production about Wikileaks founder Julian Assange, played by Benedict Cumberbatch. Dan plays Ian Katz of The Guardian newspaper. It will be interesting to see Dan,in this supporting role, in a completely different type of drama.
I hope that it will reach the UK soon.

 Thanks for this!

The Fifth Estate

Looks great.

Release date?

Is this for USA? I wonder how soon after that it will be released in UK?

Where's Dan in this trailer?

Is it me, or did no one recognize Dan in that trailer? I have no clue which guy he was...

Re "Where's Dan...."

I don't think that he features in this trailer. He plays the supporting role of Ian Katz and is not a main player. I am quite certain that it will be a fascinating film though, and it will be good to see Dan as another character-type.

Re Where's Dan........it could be

It is difficult to see enough in the trailer, but the guy with the beard behind the laptop, approx 2.02 minutes in on the clip, could be Dan. As this was filmed before A Walk Among The Tombstones his appearance may be a transition between his previous role in The Heiress and his later darker look with moustache & "soul patch" in "...........Tombstones". Certainly Benedict Cumberbatch's transformation is quite amazing, as he captured the appearance of Assange very well.

Where's Dan...

Dan is only reason. I would be interested in seeing this, but I know he will do a fine job, and stretch those acting talents in many, many future roles. I have read "A Walk Among the Tombstones" and I think he will be terrific in a very gritty role. He certainly changed his appearance for it. Temporarily, thank goodness!

Looking forward

I am looking forward to seeing this. Benedict looks and sounds as though he is doing a terrific job as Assange, and although Dan is playing a smaller, supporting role, as Ian Katz, it will be interesting to see him in a modern situation. Another October release to await with eagerness!
