The Guest & The Cobbler screenings at TIFF 2014

The 2014 Toronto International Film Festival website has both The Guest and The Cobbler listed for screenings.

The Cobbler 11th & 12th September

A lonely NYC shoe repairman (Adam Sandler) discovers a magical heirloom that allows him to "walk in another man’s shoes," in this charming fantasy co-starring Dustin Hoffman, Steve Buscemi and Ellen Barkin.

The Guest 13th & 14th September

Writer-director duo Simon Barrett and Adam Wingard (A Horrible Way to Die, You’re Next) serve up a slick, eighties-style action thriller with this story of a mysterious and devastatingly charming visitor (Downton Abbey’s Dan Stevens) who arrives at the home of a bereaved family claiming to be the best friend of their dead son.

The Guest is not as much a Horror as a Thriller

In case Dan fans may not be keen on the idea of watching a "Horror" film, a classification that has really stemmed from the fact that it opened the London Frightfest 2014, be assured that it is not really a horror film, more a thriller! No more violent than Breaking Bad or The Honourable Woman!
There is humour, subtlety, charm, charisma, action. A really different type of role for Dan than we have seen to date, but a brilliantly performed one none the less!

Two films - One festival

That has to be good. Great news Dan!
