No audio

So disappointed, no audio as promised. Does this app need updating?

The eluminated version only works on your iPad etc but to hear Dan reading you need to touch the little gramophone image at the bottom of the page. Then if you want to read it yourself without Dan, just touch the image again. Make sure that you have downloaded the right version as there is also a book only edition. Hope that you get sorted out soon, it is a terrific book.

Dan Could Read the Alphabet

Dan could read the alphabet forwards and backwards, or recite the multiplication tables and I would still swoon, so you can just imagine the sensations of having that oh so even, smooth, deep, intimate voice reading the delectablel delights of "History". Suffice to say it is sufficient to send me into a stupor of supreme satisfaction. And that's putting it mildly.

Excellent!

I have already listened to this wonderful reading by Dan, in its original standard format, and have just downloaded the new Eluminated edition. So even more to enjoy the second time around.

I am hoping that this year will bring some more Dan audio delights, as I think that I have pretty much now got all of his other books. Everyone has been a great listening experience! Please, Dan!

The History of a Pleasure Seeker

Me too. Dan recorded it about 18 months ago and tweeted that it was the nearest he had ever gotten to audio "porn" or something like that. I ordered the audio book from Amazon late 2011 and am still awaiting its release. Now its May, but if this download is so great, this has been the reason for the delay.. Have read the book, great read, now I have to wait till May to LISTEN to said book. Shame.

Download the eluminated app! It's instant!

Have you considered just downloading the "History of a Pleasure Seeker" eLuminated app in the meantime? That's the interactive version of the audiobook. Granted, it's only Part 1 available right now ("The Gilded Curve"), but at least it downloads immediately and should tide you over until you get your audiobook arrives, after which you can listen to the rest while you await part 2 in eLuminated.

I remember that tweet, too. Too funny. Yes, I think he said "it was the closest to audio erotica" he was going to get. Very racy it is, but definitely not porn.

I have been pitching this elimination app version of History of a Pleasure Seeker to every Dan fan I know! Absolutely the best treat ever, Dan's voice reading this delectable and well-written tale by the equally talented Richard Mason is by far the closest thing to heaven I've found in the audio book world. And the illustrations and musical accompaniments just make it even better. Can't wait for the Part II, The Eugenie to be released.

10/10 all around.
