Nicely done

I don't agree with some reviews accusing Dans portrait of Gilbert Evens being to similar to Matthew Crawley. But I must confess that I like the book "Summer of February" more than this movie. It's nicely done, but the book shows much more intensity of the characters.

Re: "Nicely done"

I love the film, and have seen it many times now, but I must admit, that having read the book made the film easier to grasp and more comprehensible than it might otherwise have been. It must have been a very hard task to adapt the book into such a short time, just 100 or so minutes!
I am captivated by the music and consider Benjamin Wallfisch's score to be a real 'classic gem'.
I never cease to be moved by the story, whether on the screen or from the original book. The music alone always stirs great emotion.
It is a magnificent accomplishment to have made this film at all, and I can only admire and appreciate all those involved in the journey from that first casual mention of Gilbert's story to the author Jonathan Smith, to its eventual release on the big screen.

I have just received my copy

I have just received my copy of "Summer in February" here in the United States, after having looked forward to it immensely. Hoping DVD sales throughout the world 'outshine ticket sales by comparison' and/or that this film does get a wider release so that people know it's out there.

Summer In February, where to order in US?

I read you comment and an so happy that you have been able to see this film. I live in the US too, where can I order it from? I looked on Amazon and couldn't find it there. Would you mind sharing where you bought yours?

Hello, there! I got my copy

Hello, there! I got my copy shipped to me from, but I've just checked in the i-Tunes store, too, where it's L13.99 to own and L4.99 to rent. Thank you for sharing my delight! I hope you can get your hands on it soon; it's truly a work of art in itself.
