Summer In February: Sotheby's Event & Spencer Hart photos

Some fabulous photos of Dan, taken by Emma Holly Jones, has been shared on her Tumblr and on the Spencer Hart website.

Back to back fittings continue, with Rufus Sewell and his baby daughter dropping by, shortly followed by director Alfonso Cuaron. Dan Stevens returns for a refit, following his first fitting and Welsh actor Iona Gruffudd also stops by to be measured for his red carpet look. Our final visitor is Benedict Cumberbatch who arrives to get ready for tonight’s ambassador dinner. The convoy of Rolls-Royces drive through Hollywood to The Writers Room for a drinks reception before our dinner to celebrate the Golden Globes.

Guests include Benedict Cumberbatch, Dan Stevens, Laura Carmichael, Inge Solheim and Adam Siegel, all dressed head to toe in Spencer Hart. We move to Musso & Frank’s, the oldest restaurant in Hollywood and the old haunt of Frank Sinatra, Charlie Chaplin and Ernest Hemingway. After a delicious dinner of steak and champagne, the Rolls-Royces deliver the party back to the Chateau gardens for cocktails.

Lots of photos of Dan at Sotheby's and The National Sporting Library and Museum Advance Screening of "Summer In February", last night, have been shared on Facebook.

Finally we get to hear a snippet of Dan's voice as he narrates The Odyssey.

PLEASE DON'T .....

LOVE THE PICTURES AND ALL THAT, BUT PLEASE DON'T GO "HOLLYWOOD" ON US DAN, THERE'S MORE THAN ENOUGH OF THAT ALREADY! TAKE A LOOK AT HOW MINDLESS AND TASTELESS THE GOLDEN GLOBES WERE, AND STAY TRUE TO YOUR CLASSY BRITISH ROOTS (AND ACCENT!).
j/USA

I love Dan's English accent.

I love Dan's English accent. I hope he doesn't lose it, or, at least all of it. Anyways, will "Summer In February" ever come out on DVD/Blu-Ray for the US? I haven't found it yet and I need to purchase it.

Available in US...

... from Amazon.com I believe.

Best wishes and enjoy....it is a beautiful film and if similar to the UK release, the DVD has lots of fantastic extras on it!

p.s. He has a Welsh accent in this film which is very good indeed!

Dan reading the Iliad

"Recently, Macmillan Audio produced audios of the Robert Fitzgerald translations of Homer's The Iliad and The Odyssey, narrated by dishy Dan Stevens, late of Downton Abbey (and sorely missed). Though they're meant be used as educational tools, the titles will be available in unabridged CD format for trade sales in August. Esther Bochner, senior publicist at Macmillan Audio, said, "He's really doing such a fantastic job--his pronunciations and tone really make the stories so much easier to understand." (A boon for teachers and students everywhere.) This audio clip confirms what she says--Stevens's reading is smooth, comprehensible, enjoyable. I for one am ready to re-embrace the classics"

I do hope that these CDs will be generally available.

So much to enjoy

So much to enjoy here with these various links.
Thank you!

The Odyssey

The soft American burr can be heard ever so slightly making in-roads into Dan's beautiful English accent. as he reads the story of Calimachus.
